About us

Intersect's story

It all started with a Master's thesis: "Tackling The Insect Disgust Factor: Strategies Adopted by Socially Innovative Organisations to Overcome Deep Cultural Barriers".

To answer this question, I interviewed a bit more than a dozen entomophagy experts, insect company owners, researchers, and product developers.

I quickly realised these individuals or rather - innovators - were working on much more than developing profitable products and business models. They were on a quest to change the way we produce food and feed.

They are on a mission to reinvent global food chains: making them more efficient, accessible and sustainable.

Our mission

Intersect was founded to join this exciting ride. We also want to make a difference in the best way we can.

How? By federating insect industry actors and giving them a worldwide stage to potential collaborators, buyers, investors, consumers or even curious people.
